Write a better buyer brief and qualify the next lead
Define fit, evaluate public evidence and choose a clear next step for a prospective business customer.
Who this helps: Service businesses, manufacturers and wholesale sellers.
Your starting result: A reusable buyer brief and a consistent prospect-review checklist.
1. Describe the offer before the contact list
Provide your product or service, the buyer role, geography, minimum viable order and capacity. Include exclusions such as markets you cannot serve or customer types that are a poor fit. A long list is less useful than a short list aligned with what you can actually deliver.
Put it to work: Collect your website, offer description, target territory, order range and three examples of good-fit companies.
2. Separate evidence from assumptions
Review the company’s official site, relevant product or service page and public business contact route. Record why the business might fit and when you checked. Do not turn an industry match into an assertion that the business is actively buying.
Put it to work: For each prospect, save the source, date, fit reason, unknowns and appropriate public contact route.
3. Make follow-up relevant and permission-aware
Choose one useful next action: a product sheet, a short introduction or a proposed discovery conversation. Contact details alone do not establish permission for automated marketing. Keep opt-outs and channel permissions visible; automated email and text require working sender connections and eligible recipients.
Put it to work: State one customer benefit and one call to action. Review the message, sender identity and recipient permissions before sending.
Tools For Your Next Step
Prospects are potential matches, not confirmed buyers or guaranteed sales. Research requires an eligible account and allowance. Outreach is separate and remains subject to connection, permission and readiness checks.
